Softball Recap: Southern Christian Takes a Loss

Southern Christian extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-15 in the process. They lost 9-0 to the Ezekiel Academy Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

As for Ezekiel Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-6 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.3 runs.

For Ezekiel Academy's part, Addie Newell was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hannah Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Southern Christian will venture away from home to take on Victory Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ezekiel Academy, they will welcome Edgewood Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.5, the Wildcats 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
