Basketball Recap: West Forsyth Skates Past Parkland with Ease

West Forsyth had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Parkland Mustangs 75-36. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Jacari Brim was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 14 on his way to 27 points and seven assists. Jordan Tate was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: West Forsyth was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Parkland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Downing, who posted seven points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Downing a new career-high in rebounds. Trisitan Dawson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

West Forsyth is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Parkland, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

West Forsyth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 83-64 victory against Glenn on the 28th. Parkland has also already played their next contest, a 44-43 win against R.J. Reynolds on the 28th.
