Baseball Recap: West Middlesex Takes a Loss

West Middlesex fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mercer on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 back in April.

Roman Golub and Tyler Blanton did some serious damage despite the final result: Golub went 3-for-5 with three doubles and one RBI, while Blanton got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

West Middlesex's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Mercer, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, West Middlesex is taking a road trip to challenge Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mercer, they will challenge Sharon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
