Softball Recap: Zimmerman Triumphs

While Zimmerman put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for North Branch. The Thunder walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Thunder: when they faced off against the Vikings back in April, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

The result came thanks to Madyson Becker's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaci Daudt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Martinez, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Zimmerman's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for North Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Zimmerman will look to defend their home field on Friday against Cloquet at 6:00 p.m. As for North Branch, they will take on Elk River in a tournament on Friday.
