Football Recap: Round Lake Comes Up Short

Round Lake extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were dealt a 55-7 loss at the hands of the North Chicago Warhawks. The Panthers lost against the Warhawks in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 30-12 score last time.

Evan West threw for 147 yards and one TD. Devin Powell was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards. On the ground, Kevin Rodriguez rushed for 35 yards.

As for North Chicago, they moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

It was another big night for Anthony Fisher, who rushed for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run. Marlin Jeffries also helped with two scores in total.

Round Lake has already played their next game, a 41-7 defeat against Grayslake Central on the 24th. As for North Chicago, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-16 victory against Grayslake North on the 24th.
