Baseball Recap: Hancock Hawks vs. East Union Urchins
Hancock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Union Urchins.
Gavin Necaise put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Necaise wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Knight, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for East Union, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.
Hancock has already played their next game, a 9-3 loss against Oak Forest Academy on the 14th. As for East Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-3 defeat against Madison-Ridgeland Academy on the 12th.
