Softball Recap: Huron Takes a Loss

Huron suffered their closest loss since April 4, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of the Willard Crimson Flashes by a score of 13-11. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crimson Flashes earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Reece Hotz made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kyleigh Gillman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Huron's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Willard, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huron will head out to challenge Clyde at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fliers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Willard, they are taking a road trip to square off against Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Crimson Flashes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
