Volleyball Recap: East Lincoln's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If East Lincoln was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Langtree Charter Academy on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hopewell Titans on Thursday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Titans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

East Lincoln started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-21.

The loss snapped East Lincoln's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record. As for Hopewell, their record is now 4-5.

Looking ahead, East Lincoln will head out to face off against Woodlawn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Trailblazers at the right time seeing as the Trailblazers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hopewell, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Mecklenburg at 5:00 p.m.
