Softball Recap: Glen Ridge Takes a Loss

After flying high against Newark Academy on Thursday, Glen Ridge came back down to earth. The Ridgers took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montclair Mounties on Saturday. The Ridgers have struggled against the Mounties recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Glen Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Siri ?Socks? Krabbe, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Glen Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Montclair, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glen Ridge will host Payne Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Ridgers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Montclair, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Millburn at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
