Football Recap: Pendleton County's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pendleton County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past the Stonewall Jackson Generals with points to spare, taking the game 63-44. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcat's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 57th in West Virginia, while the Generals are ranked 340th in Virginia).

Britton Lough went supernova, picking up 181 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 181 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braylon Willis, who rushed for 104 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Pendleton County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 288 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Pendleton County's record is now 6-2. As for Stonewall Jackson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Pendleton County will challenge Moorefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcat will be up against the Yellow Jackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Stonewall Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
