Softball Recap: Bloom Beats Kankakee for Their Fourth Straight Win

Bloom extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 12-7 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Kankakee Kays. The Blazing Trojan have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Kays, too.

Alexandria Cowan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aryana Knaack, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Sandy Munoz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for Kankakee, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but Bloom's pitcher proved too tough.

On Kankakee's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Glogowski, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Kays beat Bloom by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday.
