Softball Recap: Dansville Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Dansville nor New Lothrop made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Aggies came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Aggies: when they faced off against the Hornets on Wednesday, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Laci Neal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bree Delano, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Dansville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for New Lothrop, their defeat ended a 19-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dansville will host Perry at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Lothrop, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Gladstone.
