Softball Recap: Firebaugh Wins Going Away Against Lynwood

Firebaugh won the last time they faced Lynwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 15-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Firebaugh got a massive performance out of Giselle Maravilla, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave Maravilla a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joanna Vasquez, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Firebaugh's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Lynwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Firebaugh will face off against Warren at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lynwood, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bellflower at 3:15 p.m. on the 29th.
