Baseball Recap: Payson Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Payson challenged Pine View on Saturday. Payson fell just short of Pine View by a score of 9-8. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Ty Marvin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Blane Christensen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Payson now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Pine View, their record is now 8-2-1.

Coming up, Payson is taking a road trip to face off against Timpanogos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Payson's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Pine View has already played their next game (against Juan Diego Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
