Baseball Recap: Estancia Comes Up Short

Clayton hit Estancia with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 7-6. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Christopher Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Estancia's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 3-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Dominic Seecamp, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Estancia's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Clayton, they moved to 7-10 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
