Baseball Recap: Center Hill Takes a Loss

Center Hill suffered their closest loss since February 17th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lake Cormorant by a score of 6-4. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lake Cormorant apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ryan Brunetz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. He has become a key player for Center Hill: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Whitman Key, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Center Hill's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-10. As for Lake Cormorant, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7.

While Center Hill had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
