Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Chaparral

Chaparral saw some tournament action on Friday. They skirted past the Shadow Ridge Mustangs 45-42. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pumas' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 426th in California, while the Mustangs are ranked 48th in Nevada).

Chaparral is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Shadow Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Chaparral won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Boulder City at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shadow Ridge, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Irvine at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
