Basketball Game Preview: Coronado Cougars vs. Tournament Team

The Coronado Cougars will take on Tournament Team in a holiday battle at on Thursday. Coronado will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Coronado is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 85-45 victory over Las Vegas. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Coronado's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Scarlet Lopez led the charge by putting up 24 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Lopez is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Zimmerman, who posted 17 points and five steals.

Coronado was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Tournament Team was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Sunday as they fell 49-43 to Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Coronado pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Tournament Team, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
