Soccer Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

The matchup between Freedom and Gainesville on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles lost 6-3 to the Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Gainesville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

Freedom's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-5. As for Gainesville, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Freedom will take on Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meridian will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Freedom surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gainesville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Unity Reed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gainesville are facing Unity Reed at the right time seeing as Unity Reed are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
