Recap: Sunset Bison vs. Wilson Wildcats
The Sunset Bison lost against the Wilson Wildcats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sunset was dealt a 91-29 defeat at the hands of Wilson. Sunset has struggled against Wilson recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Sunset's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dayvion Mitchell, who scored eight points, and Hector Alvarez who scored eight points.
Wilson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Townsend, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Best, who scored 16 points.
Sunset has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Wilson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season.
Sunset will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. Jefferson is coming into the matchup with seven straight defeats on the road, meaning Sunset will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Wilson, they will face off against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
