Friday just wasn't the day for Central Heights's offense. They were dealt a 40-0 loss at the hands of the Humboldt Cubs on Friday. The Vikings lost against the Cubs in their previous head to head back in October of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 70-8 score last time.

Humboldt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole G. Mathes, who rushed for 103 yards on only 11 carries. G. Mathes was even better on defense, making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending two passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sterling, who rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown.
