Football Game Preview: Champaign Central Maroons vs. Manual Rams + Official Tickets

The Champaign Central Maroons will head out on the road to face off against the Manual Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Champaign Central has given up an average of 30.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Champaign Central is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Normal West on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Maroons lost 34-14 to the Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Maroons in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Although Champaign Central took the loss, they still got scores from Talin Baker and Wyatt Christensen.

Meanwhile, Manual scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 42-26 fall against Urbana.

Champaign Central will have to contain Tyree Porter as he made an impact in Manual's last game. He rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 86 yards and one TD.

Champaign Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Manual, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Champaign Central beat Manual 27-20 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maroons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
