Volleyball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Wilber-Clatonia can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Weeping Water Indians. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

While Wilber-Clatonia won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15.

Haleah Schuerman paced Wilber-Clatonia's offense, picking up eight kills. Schuerman got some help from Hannah Kohout and her ten assists. Schuerman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Weeping Water's loss came despite strong showings from Ella Huskey and Jaelis Brito- Diaz. Huskey had 20 assists and three digs, while Brito- Diaz had five digs.

Wilber-Clatonia's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Weeping Water, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Wilber-Clatonia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Johnson County Central on the 9th. As for Weeping Water, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Nebraska Lutheran on the 9th.
