Volleyball Game Preview: Decatur Eagles vs. Byron Nelson Bobcat

Decatur is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out to challenge the Byron Nelson Bobcat at 7:00 p.m. Byron Nelson took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Decatur, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, everything went Decatur's way against Texas Academy of Math and Science as Decatur made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The victory didn't come easy: Texas Academy of Math and Science scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-24, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Byron Nelson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to Nolan Catholic.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-14, 20-25, 25-18.

Byron Nelson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Decatur's way against Byron Nelson in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Decatur made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Decatur since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
