Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Mattoon's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Mattoon owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They came out on top against the Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders by a score of 3-0. That's two games straight that the Greenwave have won by exactly three runs.

Mattoon got a great performance from Hanna Griffin as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Griffin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mattoon's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alana Perez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
