Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Macomb's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Macomb's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Augusta Southeastern Suns. The Bombers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Suns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Macomb was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15.

Brixley Lidaywa paced Macomb's offense, picking up six kills. Lidaywa got some help from Sophie Wilson and her ten assists. Lidaywa was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Macomb's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Augusta Southeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Looking ahead, Macomb will head out to square off against Havana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Augusta Southeastern, they will welcome Rushville-Industry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
