Volleyball Recap: South Takes a Loss

South lost against Maize South back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 21, 2023, but that streak is no more.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17.

Paityn Fritz paced South's offense, picking up ten kills. Fritz got some help from Sophie Daily and her ten assists.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 20-15. As for Maize South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-4 record this season.

South has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Manhattan on the 16th. As for Maize South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Goddard on the 25th.
