Baseball Recap: Waggener Has No Trouble Against Iroquois

Waggener won the last time they faced Iroquois and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Carsen Ruwe made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Waggener: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Logan Janiszewski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Waggener's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 1-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Damota Hogan, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

Waggener's record is now 5-9. As for Iroquois, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Waggener does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Iroquois has already played their next match (against Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
