Dante Gentile Goes Supernova in Springfield Win

Starting off the list is Springfield's Dante Gentile, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Gentile rushed for 232 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 115 rushing yards dating back to last season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Springfield, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Gentile and Springfield will welcome McDonald at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Geno Perry continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his sixth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 109 rushing yards. He rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 67 receiving yards and a touchdown.

For the season, Perry has caught those 1 touchdown while averaging 22.2 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had three rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 15.

Darney Posts Huge Game in 42-16 Win

Jack Darney was a major factor in Western Reserve's victory over Waterloo on Friday. Darney turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 144 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.

If the past is any indication, Darney could be in store for another big game when he takes on Mineral Ridge on Friday. Darney rushed for 138 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 51 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Rams duked it out back in October of 2023.

Ricky Willrich Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Lowellville got the W thanks in part to Ricky Willrich playing the best football he has all season. Willrich threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes.

This year, Willrich has thrown 18 touchdowns while averaging 186 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one passing touchdown.
