Russell Christian Academy extended the longest winning streak in MAIS A District 5 (8 Man) this week by beating Franklin Academy, 41-6. The victory was the 12th in a row for the Warriors.
Calhoun Academy and Clinton Christian Academy played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Calhoun Academy eventually emerging with a 36-30 victory.
Russell Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jacob Howse has thrown for 1350 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while Ben McGraw has 16 catches for 488 yards. Arik Washington leads the league in rushing with 1177 yards.
The marquee game in MAIS A District 5 (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Russell Christian Academy and the Cougars. Nate Ballard's team enters the contest ranked first in the state, while Calhoun Academy ranks second.
