Softball Recap: Lancaster Wins Going Away Against Viroqua

While Lancaster put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Viroqua. The Flying Arrows blew past the Blackhawks 11-0. Considering the Flying Arrows have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilian Edge made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Addison Morgan was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Schmidt, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

Lancaster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Lancaster's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Viroqua, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Lancaster will square off against Belmont at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Viroqua does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
