Volleyball Recap: George Ranch Comes Up Short on the Road Against Clear Lake

George Ranch kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Clear Lake Falcons by a score of 3-2. While the Longhorns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-19 in the first set.

George Ranch wouldn't go down easily and took Clear Lake into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-14, 25-19, 22-25, 15-8.

Madelynn Coy paced George Ranch's offense, picking up 24 kills. Coy got some help from Mckenzie Reed and her 13 assists. Coy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

George Ranch will challenge McKinney on Thursday. As for Clear Lake, they will host Paetow at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
