Rapides won against Grant last Monday with 51 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Rapides Mustangs walked away with a 51-43 victory over the Port Barre Red Devils. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Zayveian Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, as he made all 7 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 29 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Rapides' points. Another player making a difference was Antwon Jones, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Rapides' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-14. As for Port Barre, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

When Rapides and Port Barre next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Rapides will face off against Tioga and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Port Barre will try to stop Avoyelles' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
