Basketball Recap: Leetonia Comes Up Short

Leetonia lost against East Palestine back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Leetonia Bears took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Palestine Bulldogs. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Palestine's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Jurjavcic, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landyn Cope, who went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Leetonia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for East Palestine, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Leetonia will face off against David Anderson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Palestine, they will challenge Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
