Baseball Recap: Lewis County Comes Up Short

If Lewis County was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Summertown on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 7-0.

Braylon Bean made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Dakota Hull also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lewis County's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Summertown, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis County will welcome Hampshire at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Summertown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagleville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
