Softball Recap: Merritt Island Christian Comes Up Short

Merritt Island Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Bayside Bears, falling 15-5. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly ten runs.

Shae Janke was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season.

Merritt Island Christian now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Bayside, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Merritt Island Christian will face off against Space Coast at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Space Coast knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Merritt Island Christian likes a good challenge. As for Bayside, they will challenge Martin County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
