Softball Game Preview: Serena Huskers vs. Newark Norsemen

For the second straight game, Serena will face off against Newark. The Huskers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Norsemen at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Serena is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Serena fell victim to Newark and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Norsemen by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Huskers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Newark's part, the result came thanks to Dottie Wood's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rylie Carlson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Serena's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-6. As for Newark, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-13-2.
