Baseball Recap: Angleton Takes a Loss

Angleton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Friendswood, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Mustangs since February 18, 2019.

Jay Zarate was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Carson Parlipiano was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Angleton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11-1 record this season. As for Friendswood, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Angleton will challenge rival Texas City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Friendswood is set to take on their familiar foe Iowa Colony at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
