Volleyball Recap: South Pasadena Takes a Loss

South Pasadena entered their contest against Flintridge Prep on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The South Pasadena Tigers fell 3-1 to the Flintridge Prep Wolves. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

South Pasadena was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Flintridge Prep work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 25-14.

Conan Lafferty paced South Pasadena's offense, picking up six kills. Lafferty got some help from Jack Pellerin and his 12 assists. Finally, James Dowd kept South Pasadena's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

South Pasadena's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Flintridge Prep, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, South Pasadena will square off against St. Francis at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something South Pasadena surely won't give up without a fight. As for Flintridge Prep, they will take on Calvary Baptist at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Flintridge Prep is facing Calvary Baptist at the right time seeing as Calvary Baptist is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
