Baseball Preview: Littlestown Thunderbolts vs. York Catholic Fighting Irish        
        
		
            The Littlestown Thunderbolts will take on the York Catholic Fighting Irish at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
On Monday, Littlestown needed a bit of extra time to put away Biglerville. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  10-9  win over the Canners. The Thunderbolts haven't had any issues with the Canners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  victory against them.
  Lucas Bacher was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. What's more,  he posted two  RBI, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024.  Walter Steele was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, York Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of Fairfield. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
  Vincent Buscemi and  Connor Latrechiano stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Buscemi  went 1-for-5 with three  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Latrechiano  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of his six plate appearances. With that strong performance,  Buscemi is now averaging an impressive 1.3  stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was  Luke Manfredi, who  went 2-for-5 with four  RBI.
 York Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Littlestown,  the  win  got them back to even at 2-2-1.
 Littlestown took their  victory against York Catholic  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  13-1. Will Littlestown repeat their success,  or does  York Catholic has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
