Blue Hen Flight - A recap November 5, 2013

Middletown extended the longest winning streak in Blue Hen Flight - A this week by beating Newark, 49-13. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Cavaliers.

DuPont and Wilmington Charter played the closest game in the league this week, with DuPont eventually emerging with a 22-19 victory.

William Penn's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Reggie Carroll chipped in 228 yards.

Carroll was a force in the backfield as the Colonials bested Glasgow.

Carroll was a passing and rushing force as William Penn topped the Dragons.

Carroll was the best running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 228 yards as Marvin Dooley's team bested Glasgow. Kamau Floyd Jr also contributed to the rushing game with 75 yards on the ground.

Leading Blue Hen Flight - A in both passing and receiving yards, the Tigers' Freddie Heard and Quadree Henderson have proven to be a lethal combination. Heard has thrown for 1,042 yards this season, while Henderson has 27 catches for 756 yards. The Colonials' Carroll leads the league in rushing yards with 1,657.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between DuPont and Shannon Riley's team. Zeb Blum's team enters the contest ranked 14th in the state, while the Dragons ranks 23rd.

Appoquinimink made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,127 from 12,340. The improvement was the result of a 41-7 victory over Appoquinimink last week.
