Sammi Boggs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Spanish Springs hadn't done well against Douglas recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 7-3.
Spanish Springs let Maddy Marshall and Zoey Viehweg run wild. Marshall went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Viehweg went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Viehweg's first of the season. Madison Rogers was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Spanish Springs lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.
Spanish Springs has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Manogue, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6-1.

It's a different story for Spanish Springs, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Bishop Manogue keep running through batters, or will the Cougars buck the trend?
