Soccer Recap: Archbishop Mitty Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Archbishop Mitty's offense. They came up short against the Junipero Serra Padres on Saturday, falling 5-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Monarchs came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Padres are ranked 258th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Archbishop Mitty fell to 7-1-3. As for Junipero Serra, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3-1.

Archbishop Mitty will be playing in front of their home fans against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Junipero Serra, they are taking a road trip to face off against St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Junipero Serra is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.
