Basketball Recap: St. Paul Triumphs

St. Paul's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 50-49 victory over the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels, too.

Eli Jaixen and Max Lewandowski certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jaixen dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards, while Lewandowski almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lewandowski a new career-high in points.

With the win, St. Paul broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Arcadia/Loup City, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

St. Paul wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-50 victory against Broken Bow on the 21st. As for Arcadia/Loup City, they will venture away from home to challenge Elm Creek at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th. Arcadia/Loup City has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Elm Creek will come in with six straight wins.
