Football Recap: Covenant Christian Skates Past Village with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Covenant Christian). They breezed past the Village Vikings to the tune of 53-10 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Covenant Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady McDaniel, who picked up 105 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 107 yards and one score on only 12 carries. Another passer making a difference was Preston VanHouse, who threw for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Covenant Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Village, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Covenant Christian will challenge St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Village, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Frassati Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
