Football Recap: Kent Glasgow Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cornwall Central, Wallkill was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They snuck past the Beacon Bulldogs with a 26-22 win. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in September, they had to take a 28-7 loss.

Wallkill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kent Glasgow out in front who rushed for 107 yards, and also picked up 32 receiving yards and one TD. Glasgow has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise. Another passer making a difference was Jj Detz, who threw for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wallkill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ayden Larue and John Reilly.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jah'Real Whitted, who rushed for 66 yards on only eight carries, and also caught one score.

Wallkill's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for Beacon, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

As of now, neither Wallkill nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
