Baseball Game Preview: Glenbard South Raiders vs. Glenbard West Hilltoppers

The Glenbard South Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Glenbard West Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Thursday, Glenbard South made easy work of Elgin and carried off a 7-1 win.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Taylor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Hunter Fort also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Glenbard West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand West Chicago a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26th (when they won 12-0).

Glenbard South's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-16. As for Glenbard West, their win bumped their record up to 11-17.

Glenbard South came out on top in a nail-biter against Glenbard West when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
