The Philip Simmons Iron Horses will square off against the Covenant Day Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Philip Simmons comes in on three and Covenant Day on six.
On Tuesday, everything went Philip Simmons' way against St. John's as Philip Simmons made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Iron Horses have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Charlie Helms spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Romanski, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Philip Simmons' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Manny Carr, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Covenant Day is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Oceanside Collegiate Academy. Covenant Day's pitchers stepped up to hand Oceanside Collegiate Academy a 1-0 shutout.
Grant Gardner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
Philip Simmons' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Covenant Day, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Philip Simmons' speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. Philip Simmons has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game.
