Baseball Game Preview: Manchester Red Hawks vs. East Catholic Eagles

The Manchester Red Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the East Catholic Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Manchester is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Manchester came up short against Bristol Central and fell 4-1.

While East Catholic didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Bristol Eastern on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won four in a row.

East Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Manchester was able to grind out a solid victory over East Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
