Basketball Game Preview: Heath Bulldogs vs. Lakewood Lancers

Heath has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lakewood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Heath Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Lakewood Lancers at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Heath's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Lakewood has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Heath is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Utica: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Heath blew Utica out of the water with a 63-31 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Preston DeVito was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-10 en route to 19 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in shooting accuracy (90%). Jaxon Duston was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lakewood lost 54-33 to Northridge on Friday.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Heath, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Heath took their win against Lakewood in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 59-37. Does Heath have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakewood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
